The Putnam County Health Department are currently offering influenza vaccinations. Vaccinations are available at the health department, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
According to Putnam County Health Department officials, “Everyone six months and older should get a flu vaccination by the end of October, if possible. Getting vaccinated later is still beneficial, even as late as January.”
Influenza activity often increases in October and November. Most of the time flu season peaks between December and February and can last as late as May.
While walk-in patients will be accommodated, appointments are suggested. To schedule an appointment, phone 304-757-2541.
High-dose vaccine is available to provide additional flu protection individuals 65 and older.
Vaccinations are given along with the other services offered by the health departments, including Hepatitis A vaccinations.
