The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department and community partners will hold clinics at Kanawha County schools this week to offer second doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for students ages 12 and up.
Teams from KCHD, Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority, Charleston Fire Department, Charleston Area Medical Center will hold clinics from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 8 at Alban Elementary School, George Washington High School and South Charleston High School for students who received first doses of the vaccine on May 18.
Nitro High School will have a clinic from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Capital High School will have a clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, for students vaccinated on May 13th.
Students of any school who received the first dose of their vaccine on or before May 18 may go to any site to receive their second dose.
School-based health centers at Herbert Hoover High School, Sissonville High School and Riverside High School are coordinating second dose clinics at those schools on alternative days.
Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. First-doses of the Pfizer vaccine as well as the Johnson and Johnson vaccine will also be available to anyone who wants them.
