Dr. Dominic Gaziano is the new health officer at the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department. The Kanawha-Charleston Board of Health took the action at a Feb. 26 special meeting.
“We are lucky to have a physician of Dr. Gaziano’s knowledge and stature join the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department,” stated Brenda Isaac, RN, board of health president.
Gaziano will work part-time at the health department. Long-time health department employee Lolita Kirk remains as acting executive director. The health officer position is open because former Health Officer and Executive Director Dr. Michael Brumage is joining the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources as director of the Office of Drug Control Policy.
