With the Passover and Easter holidays upon us, KCHD health officer Dr. Sherri Young on Wednesday urged residents who wish to celebrate to do so in their own homes in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
“I know how important these holidays are to many people, and how much we enjoy celebrating them with our loved ones or fellow worshippers,” Dr. Young said. “At this time, we must continue to stay home and avoid gatherings of people to help prevent the spread of this deadly virus.”
Young reminded residents that Kanawha County is still under restrictions that require them to stay home as much as possible. She encouraged worshippers to join virtual services instead of in-person gatherings.
Young also advised residents to continue taking other precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including frequently washing their hands, cover their coughs and sneezes, and cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces daily.
